Our Activity
The Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organisation implements a comprehensive activity plan outlined in Order APA/806/2019. This plan focuses on promoting and sharing information about the wine sector and its products, including economic intelligence; sectorial structuring; research, development, technological innovation and studies.

Encouraging moderate wine consumption in Spain is a key priority for our wine industry and, therefore, for the Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organisation (OIVE).

1. Promotion at domestic and international level
Domestic Market
Encouraging moderate wine consumption in Spain remains a key challenge for the industry and therefore for the Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organisation (OIVE). Since 2017, the OIVE has implemented initiatives to make wine a more accessible and everyday choice for consumers.
Promotional campaign
The Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organisation campaign encourages us to take a positive, relaxed approach to life: Tómate las cosas con vino (savour life with wine).

A space to learn about and appreciate the world of wine in an engaging and straightforward way.
International Market
Furthermore, the Interprofessional Wine Organisation also focuses on promoting Spanish wine in international markets, as outlined in section 1(b) of Article 3 of the Extension of Rule. This provision defines one of OIVE’s key objectives as the “promotion and information in foreign markets to boost the image, awareness, and positioning of Spanish wines abroad, through strategic planning, identification of priority markets, and the implementation of effective promotional actions.”
A Shared Passion
A joint programme by the Spanish and Portuguese wine interprofessional organisations to showcase the quality and winemaking traditions of both wine-producing countries.
Promotion in China
This initiative is funded by CMO resources for the promotion of wine in third countries and seeks to enhance the image and market positioning of Spanish wines in China.

This category includes initiatives aimed at enhancing the sector’s information and making it accessible to all stakeholders in the wine value chain. It also covers actions designed to facilitate access to foreign markets for Spanish wines and foster international cooperation to achieve these objectives.
Improving the availability of sectoral information for operators
This includes providing timely insights into the Spanish wine market, wine consumption, consumer behaviour, exports, and the performance of foreign markets. Additionally, it involves analysing future trends in production and markets, as well as forecasting potential future scenarios.

This area focuses on promoting stability within the wine value chain through various initiatives.

Additionally, it involves the design and implementation of an industry-wide strategy aimed at fostering competitiveness within a stable environment. This strategy serves as both a practical tool for the sector and a guiding framework for the actions of the OIVE, ultimately benefiting the industry as a whole.
4. Research
The following lines of action, detailed below with their 2022 activities, fall under the category of Research, Development, and Innovation in the sector, as outlined in Article 3.4 of the Extension of the Rule Order:
- Fostering R&D&I in the Spanish wine sector: This involves facilitating knowledge transfer to the industry by sharing the outcomes of projects that support the adoption of technological innovations.
- Research on wine and health and disseminating the resulting findings.
- Sustainability and climate change: This includes identifying and promoting actions to combat climate change that contribute to the adaptation and mitigation of its effects on vineyards and wine. Activities involve studies, practical actions, dissemination of knowledge, and training.
